wordmasher

Wordmasher has been getting out of bed in the mornings for some 6 decades.  He admits there have been some  days marked by sorrow, disappointment, and even regret but, still, he emphatically believes life is worth setting the alarm clock for.

As he attempts to work out some of  the whys and wherefores of his conclusions, he would like to dedicate his hub page efforts to  the memory of his grammar school teachers.  In spite of his propensity for doing terrible things to the king's english, they each in their own way encouraged him to consider some sort of writing as a career.

Turns out most of wordmasher's vocational life to this point--with no plans of slowing down yet--has been spent as a salesman.   No, he wasn't one of those guys filling up your mailbox with junk mail trying to trick you into buying stuff  which wasn't all it was cracked up to be. His sales pictches usually happened at kitchen tables over a cup of cofee. And while he was really good at it, he tried never to sell anything to someone who couldn't really afford it or need it. But he considers the greatest deal he ever closed to be the one where he convinced a prized Pennsylvania Dutch girl to spend the last 33 years with him as his wife.  A coup of the highest order, it was--took her right out from under the noses of fierce compettion.  And now it's looking like Mrs. Masher is even going to be around for the long haul!
